In the heart of London’s theatreland, private members’ club LIBRARY is partnering with Edible Stories for a four week theatrical inspired pop-up that’s sure to win over the crowds. Each week Edible Stories will pay tribute to a classic production - Les Miserables, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and The Phantom of The Opera – with the menu uniquely created and presented in comic book form by Neil Gibson to tell the story of the pop up and collaboration.
This carefully curated and themed dining experience takes some of the greatest written stories and brings them to life exclusively through the use of food. The play is broken down throughout the meal and presented as various edible courses. The food, your interaction with it, the interaction with the people at the table with you, and your environment will allow you to pull together the clues and gradually uncover the story. LIBRARY and Edible Stories will be working directly with the theatre companies to get input from the cast and set designers to help re-create the experience.
Some menu highlights include: a shape shifting cocktail concoction that will cause your mouth to tingle and the room to light up (Matilda); a mulled mint and sage delight topped with some infused buffalo trace and French rough vermouth (Les Miserables); and if you are a total chocaholic and wish to immerse yourself in everything chocolate, The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory week is just the ticket and will feature a spiked and nutty poached rhubarb, along with the chance to maybe be lucky enough to be given a selection of Wonka’s handmade treats to take home.
